INFINITE's Hoya "members didn't give me any acting advice"

INFINITE's Hoya has expressed his disappointment towards other members about not giving him any acting advice.

"I expected L or Sung-yeol (who both had made their small screen debut already) to give me some acting advice but they didn't," Hoya said jokingly at the tvN's "Reply 1997" press conference held in Seoul, South Korea on Thursday.

"They told me that they weren't in the position to give me any sort of advice. Instead, I had turned to a trainee at our agency to take lessons."

Hoya is the third member among seven members of INIFINITE to make an acting debut after members L and Sung-yeol.

INFINITE's L starred as the main character in Japan's Asahi TV series, "Jiu: Keishichou Tokushuhan Sousakei" in 2011. He then added another drama to his filmography by appearing in tvN's "Shut Up and Let's Go" early this year.

Meanwhile, Sung-yeol played the role of Yoon So-jun in SBS' daily series "While You Were Sleeping" in 2011.

Hoya then added that it was easy for him to immerse in his character, Kang Jun-hee, because the series is set in hometown Busan.

"I had to fix my regional dialect when I moved to Seoul and that's why I used to have a funny accent. And in order to remember the Busan dialect, I began talking with my family and friends back in Busan (more often)."

Based in the city of Busan, "Reply 1997" tells the story of a group of friends that get together at their high school reunion and begin to reflect on their good old days. Back when they were teenagers, they were huge fans of the first generation of Korean idols in the 1990s, such as Seotaeji, H.O.T and Sechs Kies.

Set to air for eight weeks starting July 24, "Reply 1997" co-stars rapper Eun Ji-won, singer Seo In-guk, A PINK's Eunji and actress Shin So-yul.

We previously asked if Infinite’s L had what it takes to be the ultimate fashion king.

Well, the answer is finally here.

On July 12, Mnet’s Infinite Rank King revealed the winner of the fashion competition with the title of Fashion King on the line.

During the photoshoot, the Infinite members were asked who their greatest rival in this competition was.

Everyone answered L, not because he had a good fashion sense, but because of his handsome face.

L added that he does not have any rivals because he’s confident that he’ll look good in any kind of clothes.

But once he saw Sung Jong’s outfit, he became a bit jealous, saying that Sung Jong had the perfect summer concept. He bickered over Sung Jong’s outfit and poked fun at Sung Jong.




Maybe he was being mean because he felt that he and Sung Jong would end up being rivals, fighting for first place.

But L, there was no need to be mean - since the judges revealed that the winner was… L!

L jumped up and down, celebrating in joy as he was previously voted as having the worst fashion sense when wearing casual clothing.

The other members demanded that L dress himself and come back to the judges table.

With L on top, Sung Jong and Sung Kyu placed second and third. Dong Woo and Hoya were in the middle, while Woo Hyun and Sung Yeol were in the bottom two.

[Video] Infinite’s Sung Kyu Narrates his Soulful Photo on ‘Infinite Rank King’

Infinite’s Sung Kyu attempted to transform into an ‘Ice Man’ on Mnet’s Infinite Rank King, where they competed against each other to become the Fashion King.

As Sung Kyu’s photos came up on the big screen, the judges were speechless, unsure of the quality of the picture.

The photographer managed to peep out, “He did…well… His initial poses were lukewarm, but then his expressions got a bit better.”

Supermodel Song Kyung Ah commented that his eyes are very expressive, which Sung Kyu adds, “Even in pictures, it’s all about expressing your feelings. Soul!”

When Sung Kyu was asked about the meaning, Sung Yeol blurted out, “Who took my red ginseng!” referring to Sung Kyu’s obsession with herbal medicine.

After much thought, Sung Kyu explained that it was a look of longing.

Song Kyung Ah said that she was surprised to see that Sung Kyu was a very bright person despite his very sad looking picture.

Sung Kyu replied, “I believe in transforming myself in each photo. This look of longing expresses my soul! Can you feel it?”

The stylist then said watching Sung Kyu felt like watching a monodrama.
